My new life began when I retired in 2005: HOWEVER, the best part of my new life began when Hunter, my beautiful new grandson was born on December 11, 2007. This blog will document how God amazingly blesses me with newness and joy over and over again.

oh my gosh, Melanie! I LOVE this. I always knew Kristen looked like you but WOW these pictures are uncanny. I'm still having a hard time believing Kristen and I are old enough to be moms... and look and act like our own moms! :) You both are just so beautiful. And I wasn't quite sure Hunter looked like Kristen but seeing these pictures there really is some similarities. I really do love these comparisons - too cute!!
My favorite things to do: Spend time in Ruidoso, sleep late, cook, Sudoku (the harder the better), love on my puppies, travel, shop with my girls, eat with Tita, Bobby, Cam, Lindsay, Kristen, Jimmy, Hunter, Meg and Steve on Monday nights, go on trips with Tita and Bobby, teach one-year olds in Sunday School, spend time with Steve, read, enjoy family meals at home with Kristen, Jimmy, Meg, Hunter and Steve.
My favorite days: Days with Steve. Days with my girls. Days with Hunter. Days with Tita. Days with my precious heart friends (you know who you are!)
My favorite scriptures: Psalm 139, 3 John:4, Jeremiah 29:10, Psalm 18:2 (the list could go on and on)
My favorite foods: Hmmm. Sweets, for sure. But I do love comfort foods like chicken and dumplings, potatoes and gravy (well, most any kind of potatoes!), pot roast, soups. Mmmm. And I can't forget Ruidoso's Cafe Rio pizza!
My favorite places: Home, whether in Lubbock or Ruidoso
